Motor suggestions for E-Firestorm? - 03.01.2008, 07:09 PM

Hi all, I have been lurking around here for a while reading up on lots of everyones lovely bl conversions and although I would love to convert a 1/8 buggy/truggy I dont have anywhere near the funds needed to do it properly so it looks like I'll be sticking to 1/10 for now.

So my question is what would be the ideal motor for a 1/10 ST? 90% of the time I will be running 6 cell Nimh but I also want to be able to run 12 cells if the need arises (ie if my nitro loving friend is around)

Ideally I want 30-35 ish mph on 6 cells and something silly on 12 cells (60-70 mph feasable?)

Initially the plan was to get a MM5700 but running it safely on 12 cells is a problem. (I will be using the MM esc)

How about the Feigao 380c L motors? Rc-Monster has the 6L and also the 8T(is the T a shorter can than the L?) which both look good kv wise. Are these motors any good?

The other option is the VXL motor, what are anyones views on it?

If this goes ahead (I really want a new truck and I change my mind as to what I want to do daily) I will get two Ener-g 4600 packs from BoomBoomBatteries

Sorry for my random rambling

Thanks
