Yes, I am using the 4.3 ratio hybrid truggy diffs. Like you said, it's the only way to get the gear ratio in a decent range. They are awesome, the machining is top notch, and the HB diffs are way beefier than the Traxxas diffs.
BTW, the Traxxas cvd's fit in the HB diff outdrives perfect, but they are a little short and barely stay in, so I used the RCM adapters and the Traxxas dogbone cups. I am curious as to how the Traxxas cvd's will stand up to brushless power.
