1/10 Truck Decision - which one to pick - 03.20.2008, 03:14 PM

While doing my taxes this year, I came to the sad realization that I have a serious RC addiction. I think I easily spent over $7500 on RC last year.

So....... to continue the addiction I am looking to make my next purchase in the next few months and I would like get a 1/10 scale MT. I don't want to drop a ton of $$ on a conversion, but I realize that regardless of what I get I will still need a BL motor, esc, receiver and probably upgraded servos to replace the stock crap. It seems like the cost difference really only narrows down to the motor mount.

Here's what I am looking at right now:

E-Maxx #3905 (the water resistant one)
E-Savage
HotBodies GT10
HPI MT2 (but it looks a little more truggy that MT)
AE MGT 3.0
Revo 3.3

I'd really appreciate some input on the above list (including ease of a BL conversion).

I'm only looking for about 30 - 35 mph for this one, but I'm not to big on dealing with a 2-speed tranny again (after my LST2).

Does the new E-Maxx really have a stronger tranny to handle a BL motor?
