the way i see it is that when you power on the mamba max even though you are not doing any running there is still power going through the esc in the board which would cause it to generate SOME heat.

correct me if im completely wrong on that

try using a ubec and see if that will make any difference.

when you say "is it ok for the esc" do you mean is 120 degrees ok? or running through the grass ok?
both those scenarios are fine.

you are pushing the little guy alot so expect high temps --- more volts than intended... neu... heavier truck than normal... your mm esc is getting a nice workout.

also if you have the money then heck ya go for the monster!
