Brushless Necessities

OK, I get an e-mail that the 9920's are in and I jump on the site and order a 9920 and an 8s cause I'm so pumped I can finally get one.
This is my first non-Novak BL setup. I totally forgot to get the heatsink, and now after reading some posts I saw that a UBEC is needed if running with less than 8 cells.
I plan on trying this set up in my stampede and only have 6 and 7 cell packs. Is there any thing else I need? How about the BK electronics programming cable? Is this a necessity as well?
