its the same as shimming a brushed motor, just need to have the rotor centered in the mag. field. install it with no spacers and spin the shaft a couple times. then pull the shaft and see if it moves, you will feel it center itself when you let go. shim it so there is slight movement both ways but still spins freely. when i got my 1512 i ran it and noticed it was unusually warm. i reshimmed it and it runs as cold as ice now! lol
