!/8 scale Brushless speed control in a 10th scale? -

I just bought an SC10 and I plan to pick up an SC8 in a few months. My question is..can I buy an 8th scale speed control to use in the SC10 with the 10th scale motor and upgrade to a larger motor later for the SC8. ( sorry if that ran on..it sounded right in my head
 )
