Brushless and plastic don't mix - 01.23.2010, 11:49 PM

Taking advantage of a great day out, I took my converted super Nitro RS4 out for a spin and discovered something anew. Brushless power and plastic pulleys don't mix. Running 16V through a Medusa 36-60 3100kv motor, it did not take long to wear the rear drive belt smooth and the rear pulley toothless. But before that ill-fated happening the speed was incredible. Thanks to some 1/8th scale adaptors I picked up from Wolfpack Radicals, I can run Proceed and Serpent type foams. Now all I have to do is install some alloy pulleys and I will be in business. Here is the car, what's left of the pulley, and the metal ones that will be going in. I also took my TA-04R out for a spin as well. Powered by a Mamba 7700 on 3 cells...it is for lack of a better description....FAST AS I got to get a fan on the controller though. It got a little hot. The foams are not going to last long on this one, but it is FAST .
