The 9L on the same gearing and same cell count will be faster than the 7xl. the 7xl is capable of more power output, but it needs some cells and gearing to do it. With the same cell count and the appropriate gearing, either motor will be similar in performance. The 9L or 10L would work very well on a track with 14 cells. Plenty of power and speed. the 10L would run a little cooler and longer. The 9L would run a nod faster (with same gearing). For the track, either will have plenty of speed.
