kontronik jazz 10-32-55/ twist-42 combo

I now want to know if my Jazz 55-10-32 esc is capable of handeling circumstances of rc cars applications and specially off road racing. When I used it with the LEHNER 1920/8 turn motor it really did n't work very well, but I guess its because the motor consumes higher rates of amps than what the esc provides specially when it comes to sudden acceleration( dragging) and so on and I think it wont do the same thing if I connect it to a small motor like the TWIST-42 which only needs 40 amps CONT. and 60 AMPS SURGE, but then again only people of experience can give some hlpful answers.
