IIRC, the long spacer sits in front, but you can see by the marks the shaft has on it where the spacers need to be. (or the space the rear bearing needs)

Your magnets got loose from the shaft? i had the same problem with an 8XL. One of the three magnets came loose. (an L has two magnets) but the solution is less simple; i tried scuffing the surface of the magnets and glue it back in place with CA glue; but the poles are positioned a way they fight eachother. There is a black line on the rotor which should alligned. After a few runs the magnet got loose again. If both the magnets are still attached onto eachother, i would try scuffing the shaft and press it in using CA glue. Are the aluminum plates that sit on the outside of tha magnets still in place?

Are you sure there are two magnets? It looks like one solid shiny piece. (this is the C-can 9L, not the purple one). I tried scuffing it but didn't use any sort of glue. Also, is there a front and back to the magnet? It doesn't look like there are any distinguishing marks on it, just one solid cylinder. This is probably the jolt I need to take the plunge on a Neu 1512, but I'd like to keep using this if possible as I love the way it feels in the car (1/8 buggy). Thanks for responding.
