I heard it cogs no matter what motor you use. The controller either has brakes on or off. I was testing a 100A 10S controller and it had options for soft brake, but it is not proportional. I had to set my radio to work with the controller and it was a pain to get it right. The Hextronik I think doesn't have any setting for brake strength. which means if you don't have the right settings on your radio to have freewheel when you let go of the throttle, it will stop your vehicle in an instant. That is not good for the drive train trust me on this one.
