I am really liking the XT8, I have no money for one, too many other projects. I will get one of those active diffs for my MBX5T project if they will fit, the truggy version should be out by then.

Well, here's a few photos of my XT8. I got mine on eBay and it had been raced three times. The guy put some nice hop ups on it as you'll see in the photos. It came with the black anodized aluminum front knuckles as well as the rear uprights. Also, all the steering blocks have been replaced with the aluminum ones. The front chassis brace is aluminum but the rear is plastic. The guy also made some nice CF mud guards that attach to the rear suspension arms. I also have the RC-Monster motor mount and chassis brace on it right now as well as the servo piece. I'm working on a revision to the mud guards so they're not on right now. Well, here it is:

What a nice and clean conversion. I am planning of converting a XT8, but still dont know what motor & esc i should use.
But i did drop my eye on a Lehner 1950/6 HiAmp motor.
Do you guys think that the XT8 can handle the power that motor delivers?

i'm using a Lehner 1940/7 hi-amp paired with a Mamba Max esc... i don't have it back yet from being converted, but i'll be sure to post how that combo works.

if you do go with a Lehner, i highly recommend a MM controller. very cheap, very smooth (with a 2 pole LMT) and very configurable! the motor/esc i'm using in my XT8 is what i used in my old SuperMaxx...and it was very powerful and smooth! it should be even better now that it'll be in a lighter vehicle.

Xray XT8 (Neu powered) MMM on 5s
MD 500 scale heli - castle HV-45 on 3s
Eflite Blade 400 heli on 3s

Jan, the power output really depends on the batteries you use, but yes the XT8 would have no problem with that lehner.

Cool, i just ordered the 1950/6 HiAmps.
Going to order the XT8 later this month together with a MGM.
Are there parts that i have to upgrade?
And what parts do i all need for the conversion. The motormount, battery tray, what pinions and spur do i need to order? Uhm maybe a silly question but what pitch is the spur.

Nice - that's a sweet motor! The pitch is Mod 1 and Mike will have a bunch of pinions for you to choose from - all with the 5mm shaft size. Since that motor is only about 2000kv - I would recomend starting with a 14t or 15t pinion. What do you guys think?
