Arrow Electrified XT8! - 10.05.2007, 03:24 PM

Hey gang,
as some of you know I had the pleasure of spending a couple weeks at the Monsters' Lair. Serum paid us some visits too, to work on some projects. And on the days around The Bash we had Jamie from FLM in da house. It was awesome. I converted my XT8 over there, with much help from Mike. Many many thanks to the Monster himself, for everything!

Unfortunately I snapped a diff pinion at The Bash, and the XT8 was out for the whole weekend. The pinion must have snapped because of extensive chassis flex landing the Barns' big jump. We took care of this later by machining an extra chassis brace.

Anyway, here are some pics of the truck as it is now

(here you can see the chassis brace we made)

Check out the double stacked Mamba Max!

The two RCs I took along to the US of A, fresh out of the box back home

The nice mount, courtesy of RC-Monster Mike. Look for it in the RCM shop.

Note the mechanical brake feature. I did not use it on my conversion, but it's there, ready to mount everything up.

Some pictures of the truck fresh off the workbench, when it was still new and clean!

Thank you
Daf

Awesome - I can't wait to get mine done. Are the motor plates he is going to have for sale going to have the option of running the stock brakes. I hope so, I was going to email him and ask if it was possible to do, but now I see it is.

How is the extra chassis brace set up? Any pics of it?
Thanks

Yes, Mikes' mounts will all have the mechanical brake option before long.
The XT8 mount will hit the shop with the option, and all other mounts will change later on.

Chassis brace is just a plate, bolted to the chassis under the center diff, servo and another hole in the rear (where the stock electronics box was) You can see some contures in that other pic I pointed out.

Sorry - didn't see the little caption under that one. Do you know if that is going to be available in the shop too, or is it a special request item?

I'm sure Mike will cut you one if you ask him. (And ask him about the name of the file on his USB drive )

great looking conversion. I dont run mechanical brakes but that is a nice option to have if people choice to go that route. that battery tray looks great too. I will have to get one of those when ever mike starts listing them in the store front.

That's a Lehner 1950 Hippie;

the mount will be listed in the shop pretty soon.

The connectors are deans.

It's a GREAT conversion for sure.

Thank you! As for your questions:

-Yes, look for the mount in Mikes store soon!

-Yes, the connectors are Deans indeed.

-It's a Lehner 1950/8.

-That's a 25mm fan, one of those vibro-proof ones. Keep using them for years, never had one break!

-I don't know about the caps, GriffinRU made the Mamba mod. Double stacked boards (in parallel) doubles the current rating (in theory).

Thank you
Daf
