I have a few vehicles that will do over 60. From what I've seen, the biggest limiting factor when pushing a truggy that fast is the tires. A 1515/2.5d on 6S lipo with gearing will get you to 60 pretty easily. The problem is controlling the truck. At 50, things really start to get hairy. At 60, things are down right scary. If you are going to go that fast regularly, I'd suggest very heavy shock fluid and heavy springs. For tires, I'd go with some GRPs. The Parks do very well for Monster Truck tires.

The best way to do it would be with a stiff suspension and GRP Rally tires, but you'll have to do a lot of gearing with the spur, pinion and front and rear diffs.

I've found that getting speed through sheer rpms is the worst way to do it, but that's just my opinion.

Yup. I think many people don't quite understand what they are getting into when they aim for "overkill" It's fun and all that...for about 2 - 3 white knuckle passes. I have some fast setups and it's rare that I get a full pack through them before I have some sort of "unintentional explosive disassembly" happen. I have a RC10B4 that will flip on its back whenever I pull the trigger. Fun? Eh, for the first 5 times or so, and then you've ground off your shock towers. I have the slipper set loose so that doesn't happen, and I'm limited to running on big parking lots, so maybe not as fun as you might think.

I think a more reasonable (read: usable) speed to aim for would be around 45 tops. That'll be a whole lot more fun IMHO. I only say this now, because your target speed will influence the components you buy. It would suck to spend all this money to have something you can't use, and then have to buy another setup that is more reasonable. Just my $0.02.

I agree with the speed issue. If you are just hauling butt up and down a smooth road, 45-50 is good speed. If you are bashing off road, 40mph is about as fast as I want to go. Trees, hills, sticks, etc. are fun to play on at 30mph or so, but over 40 the jumps are starting to get high and the breakage seems to increase. Plus weight is a factor. The xl motors seem to work well in lighter weight vehicles, but bigger heavy vehicles with lots of batteries, all al parts, etc, will require the higher end motors. I wish I had more experience with the kb 45 motors, as they seem to be able to handle the heavier setups, and are still cheap.

yes i know that feago/mm isn't a overkill setup i just diden't whant to start a new thead just to ask how that combo preforms compared with the stocj kyosho gxr28 nitro engine that comes with the inferno st us rtr kit :) But i'll gett better preformance than the yunk kyosho engine right ?
