Something else I forgot to add was when I put my MM system, Maxamps battery, receiver and servo from the pede into my T4, I had nearly unlimited range..

 wow, must have something to do with the chassis then? Any chance one of the motor leads are shorted to the can? (i.e. ohm meter between can and motor leads should be an open circuit) could be charging everything up with motor pulses?
