It doesn't matter if the motor is rated at 60 amps or 100. It will pull less amps, but the thing to be concerned with is the burst the ESC can handle. Just because an ESC is rated at 100 amps and the motor at 100 doesn't mean it will be ok. The burst on that ESC is something like 120. The measly MM can handle 200 amps burst. Airplanes don't have burst that high, but cars do...

whats the max burst on the 2230? the 1950?
