Maybe I am dumb, but I do not see too much problem with using a motor that has a 15mm long shaft and just spacing the pinion out a little more. There is still plenty of shaft for the set screw to hold onto. Just my feeling on the subject. Plus who is going to try and use a novak hv motor in that thing? We all know that 1/8" shafts are crap for high power applications.
