I'm done with MGM. It took 6 e-mails for them to finally reply that they never received my ESC ($400 lost in the mail). They also never said anything about the USBCom needing an upgrade in all the previous e-mails about the software problems. I notice that David and Bash-On were also never told about the USBCom upgrade being necessary. The language barrier and the out of country service are real downers. I hope the MMM is released soon. For everyone else, wait a bit and avoid the MGM, unless you live overseas.

maxx spent today over 5 hours on the track (sorry no pics as the track was very dry a dusty - had dust even of my shades)

had to resync radio with ESC everytime i changed motor (align and neu) otherwise truck would not brake - quite strange as i never had braking issues with previous firmware, but once i got the ESC to brake, brakes were as good as before

As i forgot my eagle tree cant comment the cutoff as i suspect batteries and not the ESC, but with Cutoff set to Reduce RPM and i got 8014mAh from my trueRC packs. With cut off set to CUT power I got about 6000mAh but need to try with eagletree to see how the packs are doing.

I did cut a hole in side of the body so ESC had some airflow and ESC stayed quite cool.

Further progress with my mgm 9032 (3.21) - 03.17.2008, 06:23 PM

I have news...

Mgm replyed to me and I made a video showing the issues I had, and they asked on saturday, yes, on weekend.
Today thanks to my video they told me the solution for my non working mgm 9032.

Now I have it working,..... BUT it doesnt work 100% ok.

I explain:
I have some issues like..

1.- I have to power up it 2 or 3 times to make it work, if not, it dont do the "beep".

2.- It only brake correctly with 2 pole motors (like feigao), with 4 pole (neu) or 6 pole ( Align 600xl) it does the Fu...ng glitchs (instant braking), and dont brake, it accelerates more!!

3.- also with 2 pole motors, as I say it work well, it glitchs a little.. just until you make full throttle and full brake, THEN and ONLY THEN... it works PERFECT, but with 4 or more poles it doesnt work :(

So...

as a 3s to 10s esc for feigao motors... WORKS (with some inconvenients)
as a 3s to 10s esc for 4 or more pole motors... you only can use it as only forward and reverse, not for braking, if you set as no braking it will work ok, but if you set some braking.. it will accelerate.

this are my progress to have a full working esc.

I'm waiting a response from mgm to know what to do. IMO It's only a SW issue that can be solved with a new version of the firmware,

as I have the 3.21 firmware, and CC-03 cable.. I can upgrade, If they give me the new firmware.

That is my problem then as I'm trying my 16024 with a Neu 1521. I like the Neu and I really don't want to put my Hacker ION-X in my truck. If they come out with a new SW that works, I'll send not only the 16024, but the 16016 as it just stopped working for some reason when I switched to Spektrum.

Just got the 16018 back with the new 3.21 software. No issues with braking so far. Have set the car to forward and brake only. Running on 5s. The cut-off issues have also been eliminated. :)

Great to ear!! Hope that mine will run as fine as your's. But i use the mechanical brake on my revo, so i'll not test the brake anyway.

I suppose to recieve mine this week

Which radio you use fkadir??? a normal FM or a 2.4?
Me i use a Futaba 2.4 FASST 3PM.

Can anyone who has the latest firmware confirm that the issue with using a Futaba radio in "HRS" mode has been resolved. For those that don't know the older speed controls would not recognise the HRS signal and you would have to change the modulation to PPM or PCM.

Regards Andrew

The HRS mode is usefull only if you run digital servos
If you use normal servos, donK't use HRS mode or you'll smoke your servos.
And if you have digital servo, you can run in PPM mode and all will be fine with the MGM

Thanks David. Is there anyone that can confirm the new firmware works with HRS?

Ok it looks like the low voltage cutoff was fixed with sw update from reading above, but has the freak mgm braking thing been fixed? I still having problems with freak mgm braking and I want to send mine in, just want to make sure "both" problems will be fixed...do we need to call mgm or just send it in with note?...

Send an email to Grisa from MGM. This is his email mgm@mgm-compro.cz Can't answer your question about the braking issues sorry.

Cheers Andrew

Just curious, what mail service does MGM use to send your controller back to you in the US?

Very standart mail for me in the Canada. The controller was pack in the original anti-static bag, seal from factory, and the bag was place between two piece of carton, hold togheter with tapd, and all the thing was place in a buble envelope.
Very basic shipping, with a value of $168.00Czech device (about $11.00 US)

I was thinking that they'll place it in a solid box, but maybe it was to much $$.

Anyways, the most important thing is that i've recieve it back, in good shape, with my upgraded USBCOM+ module and a free CC_03 cable.

Now, the only thing to do is to find a truck to put it in and test the brake and fuse current protection, because i've sold the e-revo yesterday.

BUGGY OR TRUGGY???
