Want To Test The MMM - 05.19.2008, 11:49 AM

Hi guys.....

So I have the MMM sitting here waiting on a motor selection, going in an E-Maxx for hard bashing. I'll be using 2 2s 8K Maxamps in series, for now anyway.

If I hook it up to the stock Titans (actually the $3.50 knock offs) will I be able to tell if I have a good on or bad one? I'd rather wait for the motor and a MMM at the same time then wait for a replacement MMM (if need be) after waiting for a motor.

Thanks

You might as well test it now and find out if the MMM is going to hold up or not. If it fails you can get right on that and get a replacement for it. Best of luck with that.

Not sure if them Titans can take 4s. I put a 3s on a e-savage with jsut the MM and i smoked both of the motors in that.

in that case hook it up and go for it. They say if the MMM is going to fail it will fail in the first 10 min of running it. I have ran over 3 cycles through my MMM and has not had a problem.
You proly know this but make sure you set the ESC to brushed mode.
Also remember to set it back to Brushless when you put the brushless motor in.
I forgot to set a MM back to brushless once and i cooked it!

I am sure the titans can handle 4s, they are 23turn 550 motors.

They didn't do well with extended periods of full throttle, hard braking and cookies on wet pavement

When wiring the two motors to the MMM do I connect both reds to red and both blacks to black?

Really? I thought the e-savage ran a pair of 6cell nimhs in series, about the same voltage as a 4s lipo?

I run the traxxas titan 12t from the xl5 rustler/pede on 3s all the time. They are really good motors, and cheap too. I still have a few brushed vehicles, but they are all lipo powered now!

yeah it does but something about the MM and 3s lipo they didnt like at all. Seized both of them right up, could be jsut faulty motors too. i only ran it stock 2 times and then the MM and the 3s went in. then that fried so a MM and 5700 went in and that ran beautiful.
