IMO, yes, stupid noobs do exist. They are the folks too dumb to use the search function on a forum and end up asking the same exact question that has been answered multiple times previously on said forum. I don't care if they have no experience in RC, if they are too lazy to at least attempt a search first, I'm too busy to help them. I'm of the mindset that today's youth expects immediate gratification and their lack of using the search function on a forum goes hand in hand with this expectation they have.

Exactly.

Yes, we all start somewhere, but many of the questions you see posted have been answered TONS of times (sometimes just a little bit further down the page). Just try using the search. Not ragging on newbs, just the ones that expect everyone to answer whatever inane question that pops in their heads. Like skyello said; "instant gratification".

As far as the calc goes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If someone doesn't like it, don't use it. It's there for those who do. It was originally intended to stop (or reduce) the myriad "how fast will my setup go" and "what gearing should I use" type of questions.

I know what you mean, like at one point after christmas on one of the UK forums, on the first page of the nitro section literally every thread was about Hyper 7's, which was utterly annoying. I can understand if the search function was rubbish (like on some if you spell something one letter wrong then it throws out random results) or if it was something truely confusing and they needed help.

Anyway, Neil for god? Smart move
