Nice mod. One other thing to try to get a little more length out of the wires would be to rotate the motor 180 degrees so the wires are at the top. During testing with different motors, we always seemed to be able to make it work with the wires on top of the motor.
yeah maybe i took the hard/ lazy way out. most of the pics i have seen are with the wires on the bottom most. not pointing out any shortcomings in the tekno kit at all its an excellent kit. now my wires look like a birds nest. doesn't help the neatness as i am still running the reverse and 2 speed. then again its just wires and its not catching on anything. once i have sorted that i will finish off that huge step by step i promised. :P
Hi, I was also worried about the Tekno RX plate blocking the optional Traxxas rear brake so I started working on a rear rx tray. I cut a small piece of CF and cut some spacers out of 6mm tube. I then used long screws to bolt it down to the rear shock mount. Worked great, but it blocked access to the rear shocks (I like to adjust the oil/pistons a lot) and once I recieved the Tekno RX plate I found that it cleared the rear brake, so I removed my homemade tray. Also, if you run the wires on top, the wire will have no problem reaching the ESC mounted on the tranny. Tekno parts are top notch.
First off I would like to thank everyone on here that posts, I have converted a crt.5 and now I am converting a revo, I have read many posts on this site and you guys have been very helpful. I am trying to mount my mmm on a tekno esc mount and my mmm wires are not even close to my fieago 9xl motor, can I take the mamba wires remove the bullets and make the wires longer?, or if I added bullet connectors do you think they would reach, lastly I guess I could make a new mount but dont have many resources to fabricate one. Any help will be appreciated.
i would say extending them for another 1 inch wouldnt be a bad idea. using the bullets to connect the motor to the esc wire is a personal choice and the forum is full of different views.
i guess its more to do what your comfortable with. i got mine wired with my esc wires to the bare ended motor wires. i thought of putting the bullets on but had no plans to swap motors regularly. if i were you i would buy some more wire 1 inch longer than you have, get some corally type gold sleeves to join the wires and solder away. its what i did, but you may want to do it another way.
