This would not surprise me if true. If it is true I would imagine it won't be the smoothest ESC out there either.

The 8IGHT-E buggy is out so the motors/esc shouldn't be far off

I ordered a 8ight-e today ;)
Losi recommends a 4s Lipo - will a 5s with stock gearing too fast for the race track ?

I hope to receive the car within 2 days in germany - stay tuned ...
Will a ds1015 servo fit into the buggy --- I will be prepared when I will receive the parcel ;)

With the stock 2100kv motor that the buggy comes with 4s shoud be plenty for the track.

5S would be better for the 1700 or 1300kv motors they also offer.

Please be sure to tell us what you think and post some pictures when you get it.

Could be, no one has ran that motor or esc before to see how heat goes with them. I am running a 2050kv motor on 5s. Do you know what stock gearing it has?
