Just a word of caution/warning before you buy the R/C Monster battery tray.

I've got one in my MBX-6 and I had to jack the body posts up at least 1/2 an inch just to get the body to come close to sitting level.

Even with just a 5000mah pack it is way too high. 6000mah or higher? Forget it.

Unless you don't mind it looking like it's all crooked.

With the spacer and the thickness of the tray itself it just pushes the battery too high in my opinion.

I wish I had a tray that would get the battery closer to the chassis.

The newer tray design from RCM is a single piece and doesnt use the spacer any more. It lowers the battery a bit, but I dont think its a half inch. The bottom of the battery is around .2 off the chasis now. thats about as low as you can get it as slong as you are still dealing with the side mud guard. The sinlge piece is a bit lighter too.

Sounds like the MBX6 might have a bit of a low body on the sides. I had to bump the body up a bit to fit my packs without hiting the body on my 808, but only 1/8" or so.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Pumpkin, I use a 6.5" x 2" custom size battery tray from RC-Monster and I can fit most reasonable sized packs into it. It has a little space around the pack on the side on some of the smaller packs, but they dont seem to move as long as you tighten the straps down well. I have used it all race season like that and am yet to have an issue, its also nice to have it big enought to fit just about any pack. Makes it easier when shopping for battereis. You can grab whats on sale and still have it fit.
