ive try this set-up but my lipo come realy wwwwwottt(160f)and it was a pair of maxamps 7.4 8000mah,,,,lowest timing.....this is why i switch to 6 cell...geared 14/68,,,im borderline(rpm) but my lipo are cold(97f)motor 150f after 30 minutes and esc 112f

The 8k packs don't typically get super hot until the last 1000mAH, if you are geared hot, I mean over 18/58 I wouldn't take the lipos to the LVC. I know what you mean about the temps though, I had one of my MA 8k packs poof a touch when running it hard to LVC also, but I was geared at 22 at the time. One pack was fine 130ish, the other was 150, mA replaced for free (warranty). I will say expecially with the 1.5d you need to be geared conservative to keep the amp draw down.. but high voltage is another good way to keep the amp draw lower as well :)

anyway if my temps still great i can run without problems......but my motor bearing have to survivelike your said stum going close to the cut off voltage do not help to cool down a lipo but i never reach the cut-off...20 minutes of runtime max on each pack....i prefer to have more pack..instead drawing all the mah of the lipo....but more expensive

Couldn't really find an appropriate thread to ask so I chose what looked like the most active. So how long has it taken CC to send replacement v3's? I sent mine just over a week and a half ago. Just wondering when I can expect confirmation from CC for when they ship back the replacement v3.

Responce From Castle This Morning - 11.06.2008, 12:44 PM

Nick,

We were reviewing your V3 MMM repair and had a few questions. The set-up
you are running appears to be a bit aggressive and may have contributed
to the failure. This should not have caused the controller to fail, but
it may be causing excessive stress on your battery or motor. We fear
your motor may have been demagnetized during this process, which may
have lead to the ESC failure. Again it should have not have failed, but
if the motor is demagnetized, abnormal problems may continue. I would
highly recommend sending the motor in to Steve Neu for inspection, just
to be on the safe side. If you wouldn't mind sending me a run down of
your set-up, we can make suggestions on how to prevent any future
problems. We will be replacing your failed V3 with a new version, but we
just want to make sure the set-up is proper to guarantee continuous
operation. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I wonder if this means a V4 is coming...is there anyway for me to test this motor for demag short of returning it to Nue?

I'm going to change my evil ways in the future and be much less agressive

so would a demagnitized motor cause a esc to go bad?
