MMM + 2650 combo vs MMM + medusa combo

1) The MMM motors are hand wound, neu-based designs; they are somewhat different inside though, so no direct comparison can be drawn.

2) The 2650kv motor is equal to a 1512 in terms of size, and the 2200kv motor is equal to a 1515 1y, though it is smaller diamter I believe.

3) The 70mm Medusas would be equal to something around a 1512-1515 , and the 80mm Medusa are roughly 1515-1521 equivelants.

4) For a ~9-10lb truck, I'd go for the 2200kv MMM or the 80mm Medusa for best results and to save having to upgrade if your truck puts on weight in the future.

I would strongly suggest reading the threads in the BL section on the Medusa motors, and the CC section that talks about their motor combos; much info to be had.

I am very excited about the new motors that are coming out now.

Both the Castle Motors AND the new Medusa Motors promise to deliver loads of power.

I do intend to get one of the new Castle Motors, but I already have the MMM. I will probably wait until I can just get the motor. Money's kinda tight with Christmas here.

On the Medusa subject, I am VERY impressed with their motors.

I am running a 36-60-1500kv in an E Revo geared 18/40 with Mod 1 gears. It can handle whatever I want to throw at it in terms of voltage. Anywhere from 4S to 6S is fine. 4S is what I run most of the time, but 5S is alot of fun with 6S just being insane.

I have just acquired a 36-60-2000kv Medusa and can't wait to install it. I'm waiting on a Monster GT spur from the bay that is 52 tooth Mod 1. This will give me lots of gearing options.

The 70mm and 80mm cans from Medusa have yet to hit the market. If Medusa Quality remains the same as their shorter versions, I see them as being VERY Competitive with Castle, and even with Neu.

More on this later, as I intend to get the 70mm and 80mm Medusa Motors also.

They are all kicking in my opinion though.

i was looking at running rhino-zippy lipo's.

was planning to run them in parrelel to get 9800mah (i think they are 5000mah cells though but u cant use the last few mah anyway otherwie the voltage drops too low)

so that gives me 196A continuous.
i know it cant draw this much before something goes poof so i should be right with that setup?
and i also get HUGE long runtime to boot
and i was also thinking that i could pissibly run them as a single pack to keep weight down in the 5 min heats.
will this setup (MMM + medusa 2200kv 80mm, revo 3.3 w/ stock shifting tranny) run on a mere 98A continuous?
the nitro guys already took a look at my rustler in hte 1 hour mains (i was racing it in hte 1/8th MT class as that's the only way it can fit in lol)

and the looks on their faces were kinda like...
lets hope my setup comes together
