The Man’s thread to good health!.. -
01.31.2009, 05:06 AM
Ok it’s time we start putting down everything that helps us become better Men, either for ourselves, our girlfriends and or the person who just wont leave you alone i.e. (the WIFE)..
I’ll start!..
I highly recommend taking Multivitamins everyday..
I use GNC Mega Men (sport) the daily value is anywhere between 100 – 3333 percent. Sure you pee bright yellow but that’s just your body getting rid of the unused vitamins
Next is Rogaine!..
This stuff actually works.. I’ve been using it for the last 2 months and I have absolutely seen results I’m getting back front hairline (no more receding) and no hair falls out in the shower anymore.. Ralphs, Vons, Safeway all sell it without a doctors subscription so if your starting to thin or want to keep what you have (try it) it does work!..
Next up is ACAI!..
This stuff will flush your inners out (have your crapping) things that scar you! But it all GOOD.. Here is the website for it check it out!. www.acairesolution.com I’ve only been using it for a few weeks so I really haven’t seen the weight loss yet, but I know it cleaning the inside and has helped with cutting down food cravings.. http://babyboomeradvisorclub.com/aca...ntain-of-youth
MUST READ BOOKS!!!
1. Eat this not THAT! http://www.menshealth.com/eatthis/index.php this is a GREAT book and you’ll discover that the little changes you make in your deit make a huge difference in the long run..
2.
Here’s a GREAT sight for the woman in your life!, It’s more for us (don’t kid yourself) but she’ll feel special too.. You’ll find everything from Plane vanilla to smoking hot (Yeahh BABBY!) here.. http://www.pierresilber.com/lingerie3.html
Daily exercise is a given, get your fat ass off the couch, walk the dog, go bike ridding with the kids, go the gym, try to get at least 20 minuets a day in..
So what do you do to stay healthy?? What can you recommend to the group??
Thanks for your time and have a great weekend everybody!.
Shaun.

1. No drugs, cigarettes, and booze.
2. Run 2-3 miles a day 3 times a week.
3. Workout 30-40 minutes a day 3 times a week (nicest Navy gym is right across the road where I live).
4. Eat a full breakfast or else I'll be cranky all day. I need the calories after working out.
5. Go to bed before 1100 p.m. and get up at 0500 (doesn't happen all the time though).
6. Play with my kids.
Castle Neu 1520 on 6S LiPo Powered Gmaxx (Nitro Killer)
Predator with OS .21TM
Supermaxx with Mach .26
Revo with OS .18TZ
Kyosho ST-RR Conversion
Ofna CR with Tekin ESC/Motor (2)

Funny, I never had that problem with Acai. It must be something else that makes that happen. I drink Acai juice that I make from the actual fruit, I make soup and other things with it as well. Acai is known to be a very potent fruit and will give you tons of energy along with the benefits of it providing very high amount of Antioxidant. A lot of American companies know little of our fruits. Some examples: Cashews which is a very delicious fruit. Here in America, they only eat the nut which in Brasil can be used to burn skin when it's not dried, but the fruit itself is illegal to bring into the country. Very odd as a lot of Brasilians don't eat the nut, but only the fruit. The other one is Cacao. Well we love the chocolate right, but have you guy actually ate the white goodness that surrounds the seed itself? I must say it's very good. My aunt has a Cacao tree and we used to eat it all day long. We gave the seed to my aunt so she could dry them and make chocolate with them.
There are other fruits and berries in Brasil that are extremely delicious that for some odd reason is illegal here in the USA, but once the big money fools grab a hold of them, it becomes a thing to have. Funny stuff .

I basically eat whatever I want, get about 8 hours of sleep and run at least 30mi a day. No vitamins and about a quart of water before a run (1 hour) and 4oz of chocolate milk right after a run (proven best to renew your energy so you don't feel dead after) and then 1 quart of water 30min after the chocolate milk. I hardly eat vegetables but love fruit, it works for me but it is a slightly odd way to stay in shape.

a couple of things I routinely do is
1. I take a daily dose of liquid multi vitamins I get from Costco (liquid vitamins are more easily absorbed by your body) and 3 green tea capsules
2.I have tried Acai, (more for the antioxidant value) but I have found a product called Super Foods Extreme that I get from GNC, it has a lot more antioxidant value than Acai. (it has more antioxidant capacity than 13 servings of fruit and vegtables per serving)
my wife bought both "Eat this not that" books one for grocery stores and the other restaurants, I thought both were common sense, one of my common dinner items is a spinach salad with a vinagarette dressing, taking in protien in eggs, cottage cheese, and beef, chicken, seafood. I stay away from milk, drink lots of water ( in the summer I can drink as much as 2 gals a day).
being regular isnt something I suffer from, I take in lots of fiber and drink at least 2 cups of STRONG coffee a day ( Italian roast from Starbucks) caffiene opens everything up kinda like Draino....lol

Take a deep breath, breathe out and relax. The less you stress things the better off you are.

Must be in XC,,, You're lucky you live in Cali you cant run during most the winter unless you like running when it's 10F out.
I really like running. It gets you in shape and it's a good time to think. One thing I am able to do whenever is play any song I have listened to a few times over in my head perfectly. Kind of like an in-brain music player. It's really nice when running... and in class.

Hey- that's exactly how I stay in shape, too! Just without all the sleeping, running, and chocolate milk....

I was a fitness consultant for a couple years and there is a book out that all midle aged+ guys should read. Its called "Yonger Next Year" and isn't a boring read like 99% of health and wellness books. Its humorous and extremely insightful.
The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.

I eat as much as I can whenever I can. I am pushin 130 at the moment. I just don't like being so small. I should probably mention I lift weights 3 times a week so I'm not just getting fat.
It's gunna suck when I get to about 30 and I can't eat as much as I want....

I lettered in track - cross country. I love to run and my cholesterol needs it - got it from both Mom an Dad, but after 30+yrs of running, I quit 4 yrs ago to save what little cartiledge I have left in my knees. Do the research, long term running and knee replacement surgery - its scary. I hope I quit early enough to make a diff. I was starting to have hip pain too. I've never been heavy either, 5'11", 155lbs and I always used good shoes (still do).
I (we) walk, not every day but most and typically 1hr and 15min, a little over 4miles. Walk every where I can, to the bank, to the deli, to grocery etc. Im old enough, I have friends and colleagues who are suffering from their poor decisions about life style - next door neighbor dropped dead right before IKE hit. One night he passed out, stopped breathing and had a heart attack. Even though paramedics were here in <3min and got him breathing again, he never woke up, he was overweight, slighlty asmathic(SP?) and a hard drinker. Colleague died Jan 1 of pancreatic cancer, was not pretty what he went thru, he was a devout hell raiser. Both these guys were younger than I am.
Bottom line, take care of yourself, its not too late to do a better job. I do all the annual stuff and all my Dr has to say every year - get a little more sleep and get rid of the stress in your life -easier said than done, I'm afraid.

if weight gain is what you want, take in as much protien as you can and the 3 main exercises you want is Bench Press, Squats , and Dead lift you do all these things you WILL gain weight, also don't over workout or you will get weaker/smaller...this happened to me before. I was working out 6 days a week
