If the V1 you have isn't broke, I wouldn't "fix" it. Run that puppy. LOL
Update it with the latest firmware and it will live. Then later, when/if it gives you any problems, send it in.
I don't think the warranty goes with the receipt. I'm pretty sure the receipt isn't required.
