How do I check a used brushless motor I just recieved?

Yea I know my spelling sucks! I am too lazy to use spell check lol. It smells like fabreeze j/k lol, actually it doesn't smell burnt at all. What about the Resistance when you turn it I only have 1 other motor so I really don't know if it makes a difference. Oh yea! should I be able to screw the end bell on the pinion side off by hand? Should I put a drop of blue loctight on it. EDIT: actually I just read another thread that answers the resistance question.
