Well, just ordered a 1717, so we will see if it will fit the 6x6...

Hopefully this coupled with a MMM and the Zippy 5k 40c 6s pack I just acquired I will have something...

We shall see.

That sucks... I would much rather have the CC motor than the medusa... Sell it, and get something good!

Any ideas on when these new motors will start shipping? I'm going nuts waiting for my 1717!

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Did anybody find out anything about mounting one of these? Size screws and hole spacing?? Will they mount in same place as the 2200?

Pretty sure it was said in this thread or another that it has standard spacing, 3mm (standard) screw holes, and a 5mm shaft.

so can we tap them to 4mm without voiding out warrentys ( and by we i meant people who know how to remove the end bell and use a tap and die?)

Castle uses a good bit of common sense when dealing with warranty claims, if you tap the holes out and it fails as a result of something not related to the tapping it shouldn't be a problem. If you run the tap in, push through the ring protecting the coils, and into the coils you need to buy a new motor but as long as you don't cause the problem I don't think you'll have a problem with a warranty claim.

I'm on dial up right now so I am not taking the time to check the site again, but it doesn't make sense for them to release a motor aimed at our market with a odd sizing and spacing. It would be wise of them to make these motors bolt up like any other, I bought one without a doubt in my mind that it would bolt up to my RC-M conversion.

I seem to recall someone saying (not sure if it was Patrick) that the 3mm mounting should not be a problem with friction between motor and mount accounting for stress relief. Of course, as crappy as my memory is I may have just dreamed that.
