Confused about wheels and tires - 11.21.2009, 12:55 PM

I'm searching some new wheels + tires for my LST, but I really don't know which one I should choose because I don't know which tires fit which wheels. From Losi (and some others) I know that they use 'series', 420 series wheels will fit 420 series tires of course (thats easy). But how do you guys know that (for example) a Imex tire fit another wheel? I like these tires: Click But there isn't any info about those tires, no series no millimeters no nothing...

So my question is; how do I know which tires fit which wheels?

Thanks,

Patrick

Those seem to be stock older maxx size tires- Imex is pretty good with their info- each tire is in a different size class (highlighted in bold as you scroll through the various different designs), and when you look at the rim choices, you see the same size classes:

» 2.2 Rims

» 26MM Rims
» 38 Series
» 44 Series
» Clod Buster
» Truck Rims
» Truggy Rims

If you look under 'truck tires', then they are all pretty much designed for either jumbo sized rims (the huge wide ones like I use), or standard older maxx rims (the normal sized looking tires).

Hmm, ok, that is indeed pretty logic.

Neil, do you know some rims for the Imex Claw Dawgs with 17, 20 or 23mm hex? Because Imex Jumbo rims are all designed for 14mm hexes...

Imex makes some decent tires but their rims suck, try to stick w/Proline rims.
P-L has 14mm,17mm,23mm for MT's.
Only Losi has the 20mm rims.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Yeah, Imex love the 14mm hexes abit too much...

Imex 'jumbo' tires will fit perfectly onto ofna titan & twinforce/madforce rims that have a 17mm hex.
