I looked through the assembly instructions and noticed something that I may have been unaware of - does the LST tranny also have a built in center diff?
Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

Thinking more on this conversion. Ditch the two speed part of it (and loose the reverse servo), lock the tranny, and put that battery case up front over the steering servo.
I'm not sure if its really limited to the 36mm motors - that looks to be more of a heat sink - and they show you layering tape on the motor to get it to fit.

It's limited to whatever the diameter of the heatsink internals are. The heatsink bolts to the chassis and the front plate that bolts to the motor bolts to the heatsink. No way you're getting anything like a Castle/Neu in there.

Understood, but still, was the 36mm reference a guess on your part, or did you see that info somewhere?????

Clearly, the heatsink was designed for use with the Xcelorin motors from Losi and they're actually 39mm as MetalMan stated earlier versus the 36mm I suspected. I would be concerned that there isn't enough room within the heatsink for something like a Castle/Neu at 42mm.

The first picture is what is making me think that there is a possibility that the motor mount might be able to accomodate larger motors - see the shims they show.
And the second one is why i asked about it possibly having a center diff - but that's probably how they change the drive direction.
I sent an email to Losi Customer support asking about the motor dia allowance. Will post as soon as I hear back.

Finally got an answer on the heatsink diameter.

Hi Jeff,
I'm sorry for the delay. The parts are not available to us yet to measure, so I had to contact Losi directly to get them to pull one for me.
The inner diameter of the heatsink is 42mm.
I hope this answers your question!

Looks like most Neu's will fit....

That sounds a little better for this kit.

Every LST based monster i ever seen had none, but wouldn't be too hard to make one
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
