For a typical buggy or truggy it would be overkill for sure. Most guys use a 1512 2650kv motor on 4s or 3s in a buggy, depends on the size of the track ( speed vs acceleration etc ). A 2200kv motor on 4s should allow for plenty of gearing options, no lack of torque for anything under ~13-14lbs ( I can attest to that personally ).

The 1512 1800kv motor is pretty new, so havent heard too much feedback about using in racing setups- looks like a good motor for 5 or 6s, with slightly smaller packs > more efficient by drawing less current. Woudnt like to speculate too much since racing isnt the same as bashing, would be wirth checking out the 'uggy sub-forums for some more ideas though for sure
