Thanks for the quick replies guys. I'll cut out part of the shrink wrap. Another question I bought a UBEC and soldered the ends to some deans plugged it into the rx and plugged the other end to a 6 cell battery and the UBEC started to get hot so I immediately unplugged the battery. I know I triple checked my wires and solder joints before plugging anything in and everything looks right. Is the UBEC supposed to get hot like that?

No. The ubec should not get hot at all. There is something wrong!
