I think giving him a choice like I did is the fastest and easiest way to make a decision. Way too many choices out there for batteries, and really, only a handful of good ones.

+1.

if you are willing to pay a median price for a top quality, proven battery, go for the hyperion g3 packs. preferably 35c. mike (rc-monster) stocks them for good prices

if you want to spend as little as possible, you might want to try out the turnigy batteries from hobbycity. personally, i have owned half a dozen and tried over a dozen brands and so far, i like the hyperions and turnigys the best. neu batteries are all right too, but not quite as punchy and they run a little hot.

my $.02

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

the hyperions are actually really well priced in mikes shop. The NEUs are a little bit more expensive i believe. and the bottom of the line would be hobbycity lipos.

I use the NEu's personally and like them. never had experience with the hyperions but hear good things.
