Note that I said I
especially like their swaybars? I run them on my truck, my Dad's truck, and got a set for the nitro Revo I am going to be building at some point (I have a couple projects to do first).
Back to the motor-mounts...
I do not feel that the stock nitro engine-mount is needed to create a secure mount, and in fact, I think having to use it with the Tekno mount is just adding to the reasons why I don't like it.
The stock chassis, without the nitro engine-mount, and Mike's RCM motor-mount is more than strong enough. I don't know if you know it or not, but Mike's original Revo motor-mount actually used the nitro engine-mount just like the Tekno mount does, but Mike realized that it just wasn't needed, and switched to a mount that bolts directly to the chassis, without the nitro engine-mount installed at all. If Mike thinks that the nitro engine-mount isn't needed, I believe him, but I have always thought the nitro engine-mount was never needed, even before I found out about Mike's original Revo motor-mount.
The only "extra" thing that is needed when using Mike's motor-mount is the little stock chassis-brace that mounts under where the motor-mount mounts. Instead of using the stock aluminum one on my Revo, I made my own out of carbon-fiber.
Maybe calling Tekno's motor-mount "crap" was a bit strong, and I apologize for that, but it is my opinion that it is just not good at all...and even if this wasn't Mike's forums, I would still say that the RCM motor-mount is the best electric motor-mount available, and I would recommend it to anyone converting their nitro Revo to electric/brushless.
