I'v done this just for kicks, but its a PIA...

the 3 wires off to the left side of the board connect directly to the POT, take the board from a micro servo, take the pot and motor off, and wire the xmods ones in.

The XMODS are not made by HPI, they are made by Radio Shack...also, they do not have standard electronics, or anything resembling a standard steering servo...it's just a small motor controlled by the main circuit board that controls everything else. Also, the hobby electronics I am putting in would be more than enough to power 2 servos.
