Hard to have fun with politics when its just depressing.
When the biggest problems we have is the president banging fat chicks (instead of hot chicks like Kennedy) and jerking them off with cigars, then we can break open the funnay.
Having a thread on cats and woodchippers would have more lulz.

We are all to blame in this, we all spend too much and carry too much debt.
We have to start making major cuts. We simply cannot tax, spend, print money, and spend our way out of this some more. Bush made many mistakes, however, his spending and debt roll out are a drop in the bucket compared to what this congress and president have done.
Obama is a miserable failure. He is naive at best and unfortunately very dangerous.
Obama's biggest problem is that he is trying to fix debt and deficits with more spending and trying to squeeze a lemon that is juiced out. Do you really think this tax in the "rich" will not affect you who are not? This is simple math, nothing complicated.
Not everyone can be rich, not everyone will have everything equaled to everyone else, life isn't fair. The class envy and rhetoric which has gotten us into this situation is causing the death of this country.
Even Bush's wars are a drop in the bucket compared to the entitlements being rolled out under this congress and president not too mention the huge expansion and reach of the federal government.
This isn't and elephant and donkey issue, it's our issue. I have been through with partisan politics and parties for years. As nutty as Ron Paul is, on many things he is correct. He was the only major candidate that understood and admitted publicly that the policies and size of this government is killing us.
I am not saying go vote for Ron Paul, but I am saying we have to make some major changes to get ourselves back on track and neither major party is taking the steps to do this.
The health care package is already starting to hurt. Premiums are rising at a more rapid rate across the board in anticipation for the far reach of this legislation. This money has to come from somewhere and it will be, your pockets to be exact.
A big change is coming for sure, in what form and how it will affect us waits to be seen. Will it be good or bad? I do not know, but sooner than later the dam will break.

I agree with you as well, I claim no political alliance, If i vote its on the issues. Everyone wants to bash Bush, I'll grant it started with his administration. But you can't spend good money over bad and make it right, no matter how much money you throw at the problem, its still a loss. You got to get people investing in the economy, hiring people that will also invest. I don't know how to do that, but someone knows, and i believe they are doing the exact opposite for their own agenda

No offense, but it's hard to joke when they are mortgaging our childrens futures to maintain a lifestyle. They have even said it in speeches where our children might have to pay for this.
To see it in that setting, makes me think more that they are trying for a one world economy and one world government. Maybe a contest, last one to tank gets to rule. honestly, that would put China in a good spot to take over

Paying attention -
08.19.2010, 06:47 PM
At least this thread shows that some people are paying attention, but not sure how we get out of this mess. If you look back over history there have been several periods that have thrown our country into a recession of some level for one reason or another. The only way out of it is to make cuts in spending and raise taxes in order to recoup losses and pay off debt. Debt does not just go away on its own. It has to be paid one way or another. You have to see the arogance of this administration creating debt in the trillions $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ with no realistic means of recovery. There is no way to explain this away or justify any of it. Creating a health care bill saying that we just had to do it is bull$hit. That is why so many administrations tried and gave up on the idea, because it was a Gov and country buster that would Run up the credit card to a point of no return and now he expects someone else will have to deal with his legacy. He will be gone in a few years and we the people will be stuck cleaning up his mess. He and all of his corupt cohorts will be sitting pretty with millions of $$$$$$$ in their bank accounts sipping on umbrella drinks at their poolside while we are all in soup lines trying to stay alive. The people of this country at some point have to wake up and demand that he fix the damage of his administration. This is the begining of the end for our countries financial system. Obama is feeding us to the wolves and laghing all the way to the bank. China, Japan, Korea, and so many other countries have invested so heavily in our country that soon we will be run by foreign powers.

One must also remember that we cannot just simply "tax the rich" to solve this problem. Everyone will be affected, period.
Any tax increases have to have goals and deadlines in which they are reduced by X when goal Y is reached and so on. It must also stipulate the reduction in size and scope of government. Handouts have got to stop, pork laden bills have got to stop, funding everything under the sun has got to stop.
I also believe that if we as a country would stop waving our partisan flags, and use common sense, facts, compromise, and the understanding of basic mathematical principles that we could reach some solutions.
Sit at the table and throw out feelings and theories and we can come to reasonable conclusions.

Isn't it ironic that the further we move forward in time with more knowledge, more skills, more experience that it seems we are moving backwards as a nation. Its a real shame that there are so many greedy people in the decision making seats in our Gov. I believe our Gov is more corupt now than I have ever seen or heard of before. Such a shame.
