Charging at more than 1c with Duratrax Ice? - 11.02.2010, 08:27 PM

Is it safe to bypass the 1c limitation by lying on mah capacity?
Ex: I have 3s 5000 so I can't charge at more than 5 amp.
If I set it up as 7500 mah, I can charge at 7.5 amp.
Will it peak correctly or not ( And I use a LBA10)
Is the mah setting is there as a title or it does somethig at the charge (Peak).

Thanks
Fred

The ICE is technically a 1C charger, but like you said, if you set the capacity higher it raises the maximium rate of charge. Assuming the pack can support a higher rate of charge this is fine to do. The pack will not become overcharged, since a LiPo charger will always stop at 4.2 V/cell- just make sure the # of cells is set right (obviously?).
