Wow, on an inrunner. No way I'd do this. The instantaneous currents would be enormous, efficiency would be poor, no gearing options, the list goes on.

The option 5 has been on their site for a while now. More than a year for sure. I looked at it and to be honest there is a lot of things I like about it. Weight distribution would be great and I really like cars with as little moving parts as possible. Apart from looking cleaner there is less parts, less things go wrong. less things wear out, less money spent on maintenance. What I didn't like is the motor. Just like you guys said, it's too high of a kv and trying to take it 105mph on 3S would end in........well I don't think the ESC would last long with that kind of amp draw. Still I think the concept has merit and could work very well if right motor was used.

Yeah, use an outrunner and the highest voltage possible. I would love to have a good solid 150amp 12s capable esc, then use a very high pole count low kv outrunner to the diffs. Maybe when the mamba xl hv comes out I will have to score up another 1/8 on road chassis for testing. Or make one from a suitable buggy.

I know Patric said that the MMMXL HV is good for 12S but only 10S if using motor brakes. Is this just a case for 1/5th application? What if I was to use it in a 1/8th on-road application. Would I be able to get away with using brakes on 12S or not? I wonder???????
