I was considering helping my friend get one of these to start the hobby, but the shipping from China is just so ridiculous that we decided to try and get a Redcat Earthquake 8E instead. Only $300 RTR on eBay with 2.4GHz, a couple 2s 3200mah Lipos, and a somewhat decent brushless system. It's 4wd as well, which is a bonus.
We did some research and found out that that short course truck is very similar to the ACME Trooper. The ACME version comes with an FM radio and Hobby King's version doesn't come with a radio at all.
