The stock mount works but the mounting screws on the 1717 are a little bigger than the stock motor. I just drilled them out and screwed it all back together. The motors width makes it a tight fit, but it does fit.
I have a few videos of it running in bone stock trim against 2 highly modified gassers. Bear in mind when I am racing against the truck, he has a $450 engine (after my discount)and I am waiting on his "go" before I dropped the hammer. Heres the videos, the one with the buggies has the full spec list on the gasoline XB. Also dont mind all the chatter and the kids!

This buggy looks like the best easy way into a nice brushless 1/6, the 1717 and MMXL seems like a nice upgrade to better electronics.

Could you post naked pix of the motor-mount, and bird view of the naked car?
