I thought I should start my RC-Monster posting with this post about my ride.

To this day it has the following setup:

some good mods to create more stable handling.

why choose a large servo when you could have gotten the same torque from a standard size one? most standard sized titanium geared are durable enough. do you drive it from the ESC BEC?

50K rear and 30K front ..most ppl go the other way around though i usually put the same in both being primarily an offroad basher.

IMO the bashcat braces and especially the titanium shocks shafts are not needed. just my opinion though. I also would have went with offset wheels instead of the longer axles

Badlands stretched over half ups you are probably lacking compliance over small bumps. Unfortunately there are no really good MT tires available.

Large scale servo enabled me to not use a servo saver at all and the one i'm using is cheaper than the equivalent standard sized one.
I am using the ESC BEC, but if you can recommend me a better one I'd be one happy camper.

50k in the rear and 30k in the front is just because i like a little more oversteer than most :)

I'm thinking of getting trenchers, but what rims?

Also the shock tower support is an AWESOME idea, what did you use for it?

I haven't tried not using a servo saver at all. Seems like steering would receive a lot of stress. I use the HD servo saver spring.

Trenchers are fairly heavy so you would need to gear down. Axial 8 spoke oversize seem to have a good rep for a 40 series wheel.

I'm now using the stock flux gearing of 20/44, haven't thought about it before

What pinion do you think I should go for?
I'm waiting on a 47t plastic spur, to have a cheap point of failure in case of a jam in the driveline.

And yeah, definitely doing the shock tower supports, thanks a bunch for that one :)

The tie rods ends are standard Savage Flux tie rod ends. Joining them is a cheap m4 bolt. m3 bolt cut to size holds it to the chassis. You also need a longer shock bolt, think I used the same ones that go through the top of the roll bar.

47 spur with a 20 pinion will be about the same as the 44 with a 19 pinion. you might need to gear a bit lower then that. just keep an eye on your motor temps.

I snapped off the of the stockers in the few outing with my flux, the ti-ni coated ones have been an excellent upgrade and I havent snapped any so far.

You don't hear of too many ppl breaking them. I broke the threaded end off one early on but that was landing on a rock after some serious air. Since then nothing in too many runs to count. I have a suspicion though it might be to do with the shock tower supports. They keep the shocks lined up correctly. With the amount the tower can bend its bound to put stress on them.

This is a difficult one to answer. Simple answer is that more than likely you will have less control. This will be because even though you will have heavier trenchers you won't have enough top speed to generate a decent change in angular momentum once your get into the air (for rotating backwards).

6S will probably make this less noticeable than 4S though with a 2200kV. 16/47 is very low gearing, total reduction is nearly 21.
