Emaxx mechanical brakes...---DONE--- - 03.29.2006, 11:18 PM

I finally got it done. A way to have emaxx brakes in your stock, supermaxx, torpedo or racebomb chassis'd emaxx. I don't have pictures right now, they'll be up tomo.

If I included everything you needed for setting up emaxx brakes, would $60+shipping per truck be a fair price?

Thank you!

depends on the product.

For 60 bucks you can get a singlespeed conversion with the coupler from g-maxx, that's a fair price if you ask me.

Depending on quality of parts and whats included I'd be interested. My BL doesnt have brakes, however I oculd spend $35 on the programming cable to get brakes, but I'd like to see what you have to offer. I've seen it done before, especially when people convert a nitro vehicle.

Also, I have servos to spair so I'd be able to do with out on if you are including that.

the only problem is that, unlike Gorillamaxx, I don't really have quantity on my side. I only have 5, 1 of which is for me. I think $60, including all brake posts, brake pads, brake discs, braking nut, and hardware (probably around $15 at your lhs) would be fair.

I dont see the way this thing works. Please elaborate or post a completed pictured, i'm very much interested.

Also how does it tie into the reciever? a y-harness or something with the ESC. If so, what happen when reverse is needed?

If I can see exactly how it works, count me in for one.

-Y-harness the shifting servo with the esc into the throttle channel. This now makes the shifting servo a throttle servo.

-Program your controller to be foward only (no brakes). All BK controlls can be programed so.

-Tell me what chassis (or where your servo is located) and i'll create the proper linkage for your setup. This now makes your throttle servo into a braking only servo.

-install the braking module by either using the 4 M6 holes already tapped (specifically for torpedo/racebomb), or install a clamp. Specify your chassis and i will tell you what you need.

-You will lose the shifting servo as for the braking servo takes the shifting servo spot, but there are ways creativity can get around this (though it is basically impossible with stock chassis).

-You will lose reverse unless you can get creative. The only way I can think of gaining reverse is installing an optidrive, which doesn't seem too hard.

-I find that shifting and reverse are the one things I do not need. Whether bashing or racing (this module weighs about 75grams ---1lbs=454 grams---). The main purpose of this mod is to:
A. Remedy the 9920 braking deficiency
B. Increase the longetivity of your batteries, motor, and your esc.
C. One of a kind product for one of a kind truck!

Thanks

Y-harness included?

Do you have a finished product picture?

I can't program my controller unless I get that $35 cable that I can't run on Windows XP.

I like reverse sometimes, however this would be perfect for racing, since reverse isn't allowed.

I just want brakes. My ESC is programmmed Forward and reverse, and no brakes. I dont have the cable and havent bought it yet because it says on BK website that you cant run it on XP.

It looks good supermaxx.

@nitrostarter;

Why do you need a programming cable for that? You can do that with your transmitter?

I'll include a Y-harness for $5 more (or however much they cost).

I've done this multiple times. Still no brakes. Its in a different mode, i think, that needs the cable to change.

In fact I just went try it. I tried to make it For/Brake/Rev and still no brakes. I tried to make it For/Brakes, and stil no brakes.
