Water and electricity don't mix as a general rule. While it is true that the mtroniks controllers are water proof, water causes rust, so motors won't last long. I guess if you take efforts to keep things as dry and clean as you can, but have a waterproof controller "just in case", it should be alright. Anytime I played in the snow, I covered everything up real well before playing and cleaned up real well after.
