Going 50 mph plus is not that hard on 12 cells. I've done it will a light weight E-maxx running a Basic 3100XL and a 7XL (No not at the same time:027: )on 12 "good" cells. This was using very high gearing.
For your weight truck I would use more cells to meet your goal. It will be a much better setup than trying to run 45 to 50 mph on 12 cells.

THANK YOU! Now I know I'm not the only one to break 50 with a XL3100 on a 12 cells...(Serum thought I was loosing it when I said that...)

There was also a guy that used to post on the old maxxtraxx board that ran over 50 mph with an 8L on 12 cells.
