No i haven't yet, everything is in default except for the cut-off. I was trying to make it sweat to see if it could handle all the torture, I am very impressed.
I was running an 18 tooth pinion and thought i might have it overgeared, I'm going to a 16 and 5s and see how it runs. I will play with the settings and see what it will do. I do wish the V2 slipperential comes soon, wheelies are boring to a racer. The lipo's are amazing, i spent over 3/4 of the charge and got the fastest speed at the end of my run, that was with 2 2s 8000mah maxamps lipo's

Hey BrianG, how do you have you 10XL geared on 14 cells

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I am seriously thinking of going with the MM with a 1940/8 on my Hyper 8 buggy until the MMM comes out, but want to make sure it will handle it well with no issues. A little cogging is too much IMO. So, I'm hoping that messing with the timing and/or the punch control can eliminate the little there is.

I'm using standard maxx tires with crimefighters, stock revo diffs, 40T/14T spur/pinion, and 2nd gear locked using the wide ratio 2nd gear. ESC is usually barely warm (I can hold my hand on it forever and I'm sensitive to heat) but the motor is usually quite a bit warmer - around 140-150 degrees. That usually means it's geared too short, but the gearing is actually kinda tall.

Brian, if the temps you just described are indeed from a 10XL on 14 cells, I'd say your motor temps would be better with a slightly higher KV motor.
Altough 140°F is very good after a full run.

Based off of my testing, that setup should be fine. 5s A123 isn't a problem for the Mamba Max, so 4s Lipo (what I'm assuming you'll use) would be even easier on it. My Revo runs the 5s2p A123 with a 7XL, and the ESC was thermalling, but a 40mm 5v fan fixed that.
Cogging, what cogging? :004:

Dafni: Yeah, I was going to get a 5s pack but couldn't find the ideal Lipo pack at the time. So, I just geared it to the speed I wanted. Now that I have a few 14-cell packs, I just never got around to going with higher voltage (and lowering the gearing a little as well). I get about 13-15 minutes of runtime with GP's so it's not that bad.

MM: Yup, I plan on using 4s. I was also looking at the Quark, but the 1940 is pricey enough. Plus, the MM is so small that it can fit pretty much anywhere.
