Not a hijack at all, were talking gp2200 powered STs,albeit your set up is scaled up a bit.Any how i seem to recall hijacking your last thread somewhat.

Did you say before you didn't get along with basic XLs?

I would have thought a basic xl 2800 or 3100 on 12 cells would be absurdly fast at that weight.

I've dreamt of putting my Lehner 2800xl and 12 cells in my T2, but I've just been too lazy to take it out of the Ofna and try. The 48p gears would shred instantly, so it'd have to be 32p, and even that might have a hard time with that much power. It'd be fun to tape though......:D

Hey Dabid, get off your ass and do it :) I'd love to hear how that goes. Throw some oversize tyres on and tell me how it works - save me spending big $$$ to test myself :) Only joking mate.

I've only had a Lehner Basic 5300, non XL. Bad experience with that in my truck, felt very lacking in torque, like my 380 9s. Eventually sold it because my 540 6s was more powerful in my truck.

I can see this being another thread becoming a T2 discussion, you know who got that nice T2 i was thinking of getting on flea-bay,one Mr Ryan Gerrish, builder of awesome custom crawlers.

I'd be tempted to throw a basic xl in there, but i wouldn't want to be responsible for what might happen. If you can get those harman karman(or whatever) parts it could be bullet proof. As for adapting a 32p spur and pads top your topshaft and plates that'd be easy since i have a lathe now.If it comes to it you could send me the parts and i bet i could make them work.

32P gears designed for the RC10GT/Nitro DS are a direct fit. Typically 60-66t, I got them all on order :)

That sucks about the T2, but hey, I have one I can sell you :) I brought one off ebay for the fiber lyte shock towers, means I have a whole second complete T2 spare :) Let me know if your interested mate, they're bulletproof, espically with the spare set of RPM front and rear arms I happen to have, hehe.

I think one would put up with a Basic XL very nicely, if you can keep it under control. How long are the XL's?

Me? I have access to a rather poor quality one. Now if Dabid would put his XL in a T2 with 12 cells, then video it launching over some 5 story buildings, that would be fun :) But a bit unrealistic I think.

Hey a XL's the same length as a Feigao 540 S, give or take a mm.

The springs on my T2 suck, I've never figured out the right spring/oil combo for that thing, and adding another 6 cell sure wouldn't help. Although, in the name of "science", I s'pose I could try it tomorrow or later this afternoon. :D

Good man :) For my T2, I use red springs at the back, and I think blue at the front, maybe golds. 45wt oil all around, no.2 pistons. Handles the weight of my 8 cell packs well, and with oversize tyres it rarely flips, but always lands jumps nice :)

Time for bed now I think, look forward to hearing your results if you go ahead with it.

I might be able to do it tomorrow morning, but I've got work (until 1am), so I don't know. If I do the transplant, I'd also want to do a vid, but I don't think I want to drive with one hand and film with the other.......tripod vids suck too, but I think I'd have to go into work before any people that could film for me come home. I guess I could drop the 2800xl/9918 system in tomorrow, do a test run, and then try a vid Saturday morning.

Sounds good, take your time :) Work until 1AM? That sucks, I used to do night security, 6pm - 6am :( I'd offer to help film if I wasn't several hundred miles away with a big pond inbetween.

So what sort of gearing you think you'll run?

Literally no Idea, but I just killed a solder connection on one of my matched GP3300 packs, so it might have to wait a little.....like 'til this afternoon. I just got my Ofna 9.5 running again with this system though, so I don't know if I feel like tearing it out and trying to put it in the T2, I'll do it after lunch. :D
