So is your idea putting the slipper on the pinion instead of onto the diff? Something like the LST slipper would be good for that as it seems to be able to handle power.

Agreed spot on Brian....even in pricing they seem to be the same as your comparison....and even what I said innovation....most diesel engine can now run biodeisel or veggie oil

Looking at Mikes motor mounts, they may have enough adjustment to allow for something like this. The diff would have to be flipped to the front to allow enough room for the slipper, but a custom outrunner shaft may have to be constructed. Using something like the new emaxx and erevo input shaft may work, just turn the raised center portion down, so that the shaft is 5mm all the way dowm. Something like an axi 2628 motor would work well, as demonstrated by Sike with his emaxx...

Lol even though brian said that patrick said something like.... everyones saying 'wow yeah spot on brian, great idea!' don't get me wrong, brians a smart guy and all, I just thought that was amusing :)

And when you say V8s have a lot of power *and* torque, it makes them sound like the best of the best, but the two are directly related via rpm, so the statement (imho) should be made in terms of torque and rpm for the same given power output
2 pole = sportsbike engine = high rpm low torque
4 pole = 6 or 8cyl = mid rpm mid torque
outrunner = diesel = super low rpm super high torque.

juts my 0.02 :P

What about milage. The neu is nothing like a V8 when talking about efficiency.

Bah, sometimes I sleep for 20 minutes. But there is a 1hour discussion at 8am, followed by a 2hour lecture at 9am. And BTW, this is summer school .

Summer school still?! When does school start?
Only problem I see is that having the shaft have to be so long because of the flipped CD. The slipper would inevitably help with stress, but it may still be an issue. This could be great for larger outrunners with ~8mm shafts IMO. The smaller outrunners with 5mm shafts may not have the power... Especially the lower efficiency ones. Depends I suppose.

Use a long enough shaft, and have a front support with a bearing to handle the load. I personally like the idea, and may try to mock something up on a buggy this weekend.

The slipper could actually as close to the motor as the motor mount permits. I just drew it that way so you would know there was a motor shaft there . The center diff's positioning is actually a non-issue.

UCI (University of California, Irvine) where I go, or almost any UC for that matter, is on the quarter system. We start September 25th. Right now I'm in the 2nd Summer Session, and it ends September 10th. Then I get 2 more weeks of summer .

Wow. I'm at University of Central Florida, and we're already in our "regular" fall semester. I can't believe you guys still have summer!!!!!

We're on a semesterly based system (16 weeks). I just finished up my first week of "real" classes.

Yep... School for us started on Aug 27th. Very "Un-baller" as the so called "ballers" say.
