Better track record than CC and they seem to be able to produce more.

News flash for you:
Novak as of late is having a lot of trouble with the HV, and judging by the absence of novaktwo on the boards I would say things aren't going well. Novak also had major issues with the HV when they started, which was evident by the large ammount of refurbished HV systems Novak had for a long time.
Not to mention that CC is a larger company than Novak as well.

Well Traxxas I think made the right call - I'm sure they have worked out there supply chain.
Castle have had issues with the MMM this year which they admit - I think we all hope that there issues are behind them.
Once production is flowing I don't think CC will have any issues - Availability of the MM was never really an issue. The MMM will be no different - The only reason for limited availablilty as they were doing single batch runs in case of issues. Once they are fully confident they will be off to the races.
Bad for us I'm sure they will have guarenteed Traxxas a degree of priority.
I think more like $700+ with the 2.4

You have to figure that the Traxxas/Castle partnership is why there have been delays on the MMM, because I can guarantee that their focus has been on the Traxxas deal, not the stand-alone MMM. Who is paying more? Traxxas, or the general public? I would sure think Traxxas. Plus, what a coup this is for Castle….to get into the “mainstream” with a deal with Traxxas. If you remember back at RCX this year, they showed an E-Revo with a Mamba Monster in it as a “what is possible” kind of display. Obviously there was something to that even back then! I say it deserves a “Way to go!” for Traxxas and Castle!

While I was sleeping....
Lots of lovely new things I see, but I dont like the 1/16th stuff- looks like kiddies toys.
CC and TRX partners ship should be interesting, assuming the MMM V3 doesnt let CC down (again). Not that I care all that much, all I want is my 70mm Medusa and I can die a happy man

I will have to get a 1/16 scale Revo as well. Huge week for the hobby! Especially for Traxxas... can't wait to see the other trucks they release.
Anyone think it may be a truggy or buggy?

I'm also disappointed that Traxxas didn't at least re-badge the MMM to look like a Traxxas product. I mean they did it with the Velineon 3500, why not these? It would be smarter IMO if Traxxas had their names on the ESCs and Motors. All they did was look at what people built and built one for them. My V-Twin is for sale and I think I'm going Associated now. I love this RC10 I just got, its awsome fun.
The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.

Why should Traxxas re-badge the Castle ESC and motor? It's not their design, and Traxxas won't be supporting the system either. The Velineon was their product, so that's obviously different. IMO, it's a good deal; Castle will get promoted, as well as Traxxas themselves.
Think of it as more of a combo than a new product.

The Velineon 3500 is a Feigao motor.

That motor was made by Feigao for Traxxas. It's not just a rebadge, because if it were then you'd be able to buy it under a different name.

I could be wrong but isn't it just a 7L with a screw on end bell?

The kv matches up pretty well, but it's definitely not a 7L.

Nope, it's some kind of custom-spec'd motor; rotor's somewhere between an S-can and L-can in size. But that's what I meant. The ESC was built by Traxxas, and the motor was specified by Traxxas for Feigao to make.
